If you keep up with the news, you might notice that the Samsung Galaxy
Tab 2 is not showing that much of itself (themselves, actually). We
first heart about the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0 and 10.1-inch) close to a
month ago, but since then, a quick pass through the FCC and that is
about it. Samsung apparently pushed back the Galaxy Tab 2 models release
date. Join us after the break for more.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 Release Date
We assumed that the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 release date was closing in quickly.
After the visit at the FCC and the model numbers showing up, we thought
– they are here! However, we were wrong. Samsung revealed that it
planned to release the two tablets in March in the UK, followed by a
global launch.
In case you own a calendar (I don’t, but maybe you do), you might
notice that March passed with no Galaxy Tab 2 in sight. Such delays are
not out of the ordinary, but what is out of the ordinary, is the fact
that Samsung did not go into any details.
The new Galaxy Tab series was supposed to launch in the UK last month, but nothing happened. Samsung commented that the release is still on track and that the UK will get it first, but their plans now shifted a little. The company is now aiming for an April release.
To be more precise about the period, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 release
date in the UK is set for the end of April. The international launch
will follow shortly after that.
For now, we do not know what caused the delay, but this is not like
we suffer a huge loss. The specifications of the two Android tablets are
decent, but by no means will a 1.0GHz dual-core processor turn heads,
nor will a 3 megapixel camera.
The biggest issue is the price tag, as some rumors placed the Samsung
Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 price tag in the $500 mark. I am sure that we will
know more as the release date closes in. Until then, stay tuned for
more!
